What is a hand-tufted rug?
A hand-tufted rug is made by punching yarn through a stretched backing cloth with a tufting gun, one loop at a time. The loops are sheared into a soft, even cut pile, then the back is sealed and finished. Every Tubby rug is hand-tufted, so each one has a thick, squishy feel and crisp outlines.
How big are Tubby rugs?
Each rug is about 100 cm (1000 mm) across. The round rugs are 100 cm in diameter, and the cut-out Cloud Rider is roughly 100 cm at its widest. Each one weighs about 3 kg, so it's light enough to hang on a wall.
How much does a Tubby rug cost?
Every Tubby rug is A$220. That's the everyday price: we don't run sales or discount codes, so you'll never miss a better deal. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST; customers outside Australia see an approximate conversion to their own currency at checkout.
Where do you ship, and how much is shipping?
We ship from Victoria, Australia to Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the UK and most of Europe. Standard shipping in Australia is free (Express is A$15), New Zealand is A$35, the United States is A$50 and Europe is A$60, all tracked. Rugs are rolled, never folded, so they arrive flat. International orders may attract import duty or VAT in your country. For Christmas delivery in Australia, order by Friday 11 December.
What makes these anime and cartoon rugs unique?
Every design is our own take on a character rug, hand-tufted with a thick cut pile and a bold black outline, and some, like Cloud Rider, are cut to the shape of the artwork. You won't find them in a chain store, which makes them some of the most unique rugs you can put on your floor.
Can I hang a tufted rug on the wall?
Yes. Funky rugs like ours look great as wall art in a gaming room, bedroom or studio. Use a rug hanger or a slim batten along the top edge so the weight is spread evenly.
How do I clean a tufted rug?
Vacuum regularly on a low setting without the beater bar. For spills, blot (don't rub) with cold water and a little mild soap, then let it air dry flat. Don't put a tufted rug in the washing machine.
Will the rug slip on hard floors?
On timber or tiles, put a non-slip rug underlay beneath it. It keeps the rug in place and adds even more cushion.
